“The freedom of conscience and worship is one of the individual’s liberties assured in every enlightened democratic regime” Justice Moshe Landau
There is only one Country in the Middle East where there are legally enshrined and protected equal rights for all religions and that is Israel.
The 1948 Israeli Declaration of Independence, guarantees freedom of religion and conscience, and equality of social and political rights irrespective of religion.
Attacks against Muslims or Christians and their places of worship are not tolerated by the Police, the Courts or Society as a whole. Wherever isolated incidents have occurred, these are treated as hate crimes and dealt with severely; this is by contrast to the many attacks against Christians in Egypt, Syria and Pakistan.
